IMAP was again able to increase the number of successfully closed transactions globally in the last year. With a total of 294 transactions and a total transaction value of more than EUR 24 billion, IMAP recorded its strongest year ever, despite the overall challenging market environment due to the pandemic situation created by Covid19. In Germany, we successfully closed 27 transactions at our offices in Mannheim, Munich and Frankfurt. We continue to be one of the leading M&A advisors for medium-sized companies and their shareholders, both globally and in Germany.
"IT & Software" and "Healthcare" were the most active IMAP sectors, which especially benefited from the pandemic situation, leading to very high valuations for well-positioned market participants. In Germany, we also successfully advised on a number of transactions in the “Industrial” and “Consumer and Retail” sectors. In more than 80% of the transactions we advised the sellers. In addition, we supported various investors in buy-and-build projects. For 2022, we expect a high level of transaction activity also due to a well-filled deal pipeline, and we anticipate company valuations to remain at an attractive level for sellers.
