IMAP advises Zwissler Holding on the sale of LEINER GmbH to Gibus S.p.A.
The acquisition will enable Gibus to establish nationwide market coverage in Germany and Benelux and gain a leading position in the high-growth hospitality segment.
IMAP advised Dr. Zwissler Holding AG on the sale of LEINER GmbH, a leading manufacturer of awnings and terrace roof systems, to the Italian company Gibus S.p.A. The acquisition will enable Gibus to establish nationwide market coverage in Germany and Benelux and gain a leading position in the high-growth hospitality segment.
LEINER GmbH, founded more than 180 years ago and headquartered in Horgau near Augsburg, specializes in the production of awnings and shading systems mainly for the German market. Well-established in the premium segment, the medium-sized company with approximately 150 employees supplies over 700 specialist dealers in Germany and the Benelux region. As the inventor of the patented SUNRAIN® system for protection from sun and rain, LEINER has been the undisputed market leader in the hospitality segment for many years. With its Hamburg-based subsidiary Schirmherrschaft and the exclusive SUNRAIN® Partner network, LEINER provides a unique solutions range for sun protection in the outdoor gastronomy.
Gibus S.p.A. is the Italian market leader for awnings and bioclimatic pergola systems. The listed yet majority family-owned company sets standards in quality and design. With more than 400 GIBUS Ateliers, the company has a leading market position in Southern Europe. Through the acquisition of LEINER, Gibus continues its European expansion. Thereby, both LEINER and Gibus benefit from complementary products in the hospitality and bioclimatic pergola segments.
