IMAP advises the shareholders of WEISSER Group on the sale to Hardinge Inc.

With this acquisition, Hardinge expands its turning, milling and grinding machines with an attractive portfolio of products and technologies.

IMAP advised J.G WEISSER SÖHNE GmbH & Co. KG, a leading manufacturer of multifunctional precision lathes and turning centers, on the acquisition by the American company Hardinge Inc. With this acquisition, Hardinge expands its turning, milling and grinding machines with an attractive portfolio of products and technologies.

WEISSER is regarded as a technologically leading global manufacturer of multifunctional precision turning machines and turning centers. With around 400 employees, the company develops and manufactures high-quality machine tools at its site in St. Georgen (Black Forest) and provides tailor-made, process-optimized system solutions with a focus on technology integration and the goal of complete machining in a single set-up.

Hardinge is a leading provider of advanced, high precision metal-cutting machine tool solutions, aftermarket tooling and accessories. With over 125 years of experience, the company has been on the forefront of innovation with a full spectrum of CNC turning, milling and grinding machines as well as workholding products and accessories , providing customers and partners in over 65 countries worldwide with solutions for the most demanding manufacturing requirements.

"We believe there are exciting opportunities to leverage collaboration within our global sales and service network and our existing turning and milling brands. The integration of the WEISSER brand and products into Hardinge Group, especially in industries and geographies where Hardinge is well-established, will further accelerate WEISSER's growth. This transaction will bring together two complementary businesses, accelerate the Hardinge growth strategy and increase our core capabilities in highly attractive segments.”, said Ryan Levenson, Hardinge CEO.

"We see the integration of J.G. WEISSER, a family-owned company for over one hundred years, into the globally active Hardinge Group as the ideal precondition for the further development of the unique technological competence and the protection of jobs at the location in St. Georgen," says Nikolaus Gräf, Chairman of the Advisory Board of WEISSER.

The IMAP team consisting of Karl Fesenmeyer, Christoph Gluschke, Benjamin Hawelka, Carl-Benedict Schmucker and Maximilian von Ostrowski exclusively advised the shareholders of WEISSER during a structured, competitive M&A process and supported them in negotiating and successfully completing the transaction.
